'Intensional Logic and Metaphysics of Intentionality' 30 years later
Workshop with Edward Zalta
In 1988, the book „Intensional Logic and Metaphysics of Intentionality” was published. The ultimate aim of the book was to solve problems of metaphysics of intentionality using a formal system of intensional logic that allows one to formulate object theory.
The system and theory proposed in this book have had an impact on a number of philosophical debates in metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mathematics and philosophy of logic. The 30th anniversary of the publication of the book provides an opportunity to meet with the author during a one-day workshop and discuss ideas and problems central to the book.
The workshop will take place at the Institute of Philosophy, University of Warsaw, on 20/06/2018.
We invite submissions for a 40-minute presentation (this includes a time for a discussion) linked to themes drawn from the works of Edward Zalta. Examples of relevant themes include (but are not limited to):
-intensional logic,
-intentionality,
-philosophy of modality,
-abstract objects,
-philosophy of fiction,
-philosophy of mathematics,
-philosophy of mind.
